What am I doing you ask? Well, other than working 45 hours a week, trying to be a good husband and father, taking care of my aging mother and her finances, managing a rental property, keeping the martial arts club rolling, maintaining a healthy workout schedule, and trying to beat Resident Evil 6 on Playstation, here’s the list:
- I’ve accepted a modified version of the Ray Bradbury Challenge — writing a short story per week until I reach 80,000 words (at which point I’m publishing the collection on Smashwords).
- I’m anxiously waiting for the editors to the return proofs of my novel The 14th Mansion so that I can start the rewrite.
- I’m editing the submissions we’ve received for Osculum Infame: Transgressive Rites and Rituals, as well as writing a piece or two myself for probable inclusion.
- In preparation for the promotion of two dedicated Athanors to the rank of Elder, I’m finishing up The Elder’s Book of Secrets. This book contains material to which only Elders of Cabal Fang Martial Arts have access. The only way to read it is to achieve the rank of Elder and make the pilgrimage to my Sanctum Sanctorum where the original resides in a locked chest. Sounds like the intro to a Indiana Jones movie, but it’s serious business. This book may be the most important thing I’ve ever written. I’ve been working on it for twenty-five years.
Sometimes I even sleep a little.
